If you want to expand your underwater field of view, the 93sv is compatible with Garmin’s Ultra HD ClearVü and Ultra HD SideVü scanning sonar, as well as the excellent Garmin High Width CHIRP conventional sonar system. If you really want to go all out, it can use Garmin’s Panoptix full-vision sonar, including Panoptix LiveScope sonar (also available). I recently tried this system and I’ll just say that it’s a lot like having trail cameras around the tree you’re sitting in all the time and having them provide you with every single thing in the woods in real time, but in more detail than any camera I’ve ever seen.
The unit comes pre-loaded with LakeVü g3 inland maps that contain integrated Navionics data for over 17,000 lakes with contours up to 1 foot high. A friend of mine said these maps incorporate the device’s GPS data and you may not know where you are, but don’t worry, Garmin will tell you. If you’re sailing a big boat and need these features, Garmin also offers NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 network support for autopilot and engine data. A quick and easy to move quick release mount allows you to move and store as needed.
The Platinum reel has a one-piece lightweight but sturdy aluminum frame with a hollow stainless steel sling and rollers. This works together to reduce any oscillating effects during rotation, resulting in smooth retrieval. The forged, double-anodized aluminum spools are corrosion-resistant and allow you to reel in any type of line you want without worrying about damage. Inside, you’ll find what Bass Pro calls a micro-tooth gear system designed to engage precisely with a stainless steel spindle, hard zinc drive gear and brass pinion. It has a smooth 11-bearing (10+1) setup, including paired bearings at the pinion and drive gears.
There is also a one-way roller bearing to power the Powerlock for instant anti-reverse. When you get to the larger size, you’ll be pleased with the 6-disc high performance felt/aluminum drag system.
The reel also comes with a sweet solid aluminum handle and padded grip that can be set for right or left handed use. Available in three different sizes, the 2000 and 3000 are equipped with a 6.0:1 drive ratio and the 4000 with a 5.7:1 drive ratio. If you are in the market for a quality spinning reel, but don’t want the huge prices that often accompany them, then this is the one to check.
The Ascend 133X has all that and more. And if you want to concentrate more on fishing than paddling, you can use the Yak-Power system to quickly hook up an electric trolling motor and be able to scoot across the water when you work on fishing. It has a catamaran-style hull for supreme stability and tracking, so it goes where you want it to go. The 133X has accessory rails, ample storage and can handle up to 550-pounds.
This unit has many features that will make your time on the water more fun and productive. It has a high-definition 9-inch display that gives you an accurate view from the MEGA Side Imaging+ and MEGA Down Imaging+ systems, showing you amazing detail of everything under the boat. Sonar tasks are handled by dual-spectrum CHIRP and low-Q CHIRP sensors with Humminbird’s SwitchFire Sonar Dual Display mode.
Never been to that particular lake before? Don’t worry with the built-in Humminbird base maps (charts and maps of over 10,000 lakes) that show where you are, or show parts of your favorite lakes you may not know about. It also comes with NMEA 2000 networking and is Bluetooth compatible. The unit comes with the transducer, all mounting hardware, power cord and gimbal mounting bracket.
